Frequently Asked Questions

What is Lip Filler?

Lip filler, often referred to as lip augmentation, is a cosmetic procedure involving the injection of dermal fillers into the lips to enhance their volume, shape, and fullness. These fillers are typically composed of substances like hyaluronic acid and can provide natural-looking results. Lip filler treatments are temporary, and their effects can last several months before requiring a touch-up.

What can I expect at my appointment?

During a Filler appointment, you can expect a consultation with Dr. KK or her team members to discuss your aesthetic goals and assess the areas for treatment. We often like to mark the area and take "pre"-pictures. This is a collaboration between the patient and the injector. We want the best results for you!

The actual procedure typically involves a series of small injections into specific facial muscles. Dr KK likes her clients extremely comfortable and prefers to use either topical numbing creams or for the ultimate comfort she will perform a dental block, which is generally quick and relatively painless.

The actual treatment involves the injection of dermal fillers into your lips, which is usually well-tolerated with minimal discomfort. Temporary swelling and potential bruising at the injection sites are common but typically subside within a few days, and you can resume your daily activities immediately.

When should I expect my lips to settle after lip filler?

Immediately post lip filler you will be at maximal swelling, roughly 20-30% above your expected final outcome. You can expect your lips to settle within about 1 to 2 weeks. During this time, any initial swelling and potential bruising should subside, and the final results should become more apparent. It's important to be patient and allow your lips to fully heal and settle before assessing the final outcome of the treatment.

How long do lip filler results last?

The duration of lip filler results can vary depending on the type of filler used, individual metabolism, and lifestyle factors. Generally, lip filler results last anywhere from 6 to 12 months, and in some cases, even longer.

What is the cost of lip filler injections?

You are paying for the skill and time of the injector.

Cost can range from $475-$599

What else should I consider about lip filler?

Your injector will assess not only your lips but the "peri-oral" area surrounding your mouth and offer suggestions for a more wholistic restoration. They may also consider recommending chin filler to support the lip volume if balance is required.
